Dr. Deanna Correia
I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in 2002.
I’ve been a part-time clinical instructor in the Pediatric department at the University of Alberta since 2004. Additionally, I’m the team captain of the Pedaling Pearly Whites bike team that has raised money for Multiple Sclerosis every year since 2007.
Having taught dance for more than two decades, I instruct ballet, jazz, contemporary, pointe, and beginner hip-hop classes for students of all ages for Edmonton Community Dance. I love interacting with children, and it has in turn given me experience soothing their fears in the dental chair.
I married my husband in 2010, and live with two fantastic fur babies — Martini and Bellini. I love to travel, and enjoy being able to practice the French and Portuguese languages while traveling, or with my patients at the office.
I have been working at Beaumaris Dental since it opened in 1986. I started my career after graduating from NAIT with my diploma in Dental Assisting and began assisting for Dr. Thompson for 8 years. After my daughter was born I came back to work part time as a receptionist. I love working at Beaumaris Dental, the best part is seeing patients who started seeing us years ago who are bringing their children and now grandchildren in for dental work. I am married with two children and enjoy going to the lake and spending time with family.
I have been working at Beaumaris Dental Centre since 2014. A veteran in the dental receptionist field, I have over 15 years of experience. I strive for excellence in customer service, office skills, and building relationships with patients and my co-workers. I love to travel and experience new places and gain an insight into other cultures. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my amazing husband and my four beautiful children.
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and emigrated to Canada when I was 20. I got married in 1967 and have two children, Jack and Deanna and two grandchildren.
In my life I have had many jobs mostly doing bookkeeping, secretarial and managerial positions for the companies that my husband and I have been fortunate enough to own, and currently I work at Beaumaris Dental for my daughter as a part time receptionist since 2014.
I love to travel and have been to many countries – enjoy experiencing new cultures and especially trying different cuisine. I have had so many crazy adventures travelling including managing to avoid a disaster when our plane blew up in Bangkok from a bomb and being attacked by a monkey in Roatan. In my free time, I enjoy being a travel agent at ‘Holiday Events and Travel’ and booking holidays for friends and clients.
Part of my heart still belongs in Scotland, and I look forward to visiting there as much as I can.
I graduated from NAIT in 2009 with my diploma in Dental Assisting. I started working at Beaumaris Dental shortly after and have worked with Dr. Correia ever since. We are a great team and enjoy making the dental visit a bit more ‘fun’ than patients are used to!
Although I do stare at teeth all day, I do have a life outside of dentistry generally consisting of sports. I get teased for being so tiny…but get me on the soccer field or ball hockey rink and I can be fierce! In the winter months I try to get out to the mountains to go snowboarding, and whenever possible I enjoy travelling the world. I have many places still to visit!
I completed my dental hygiene degree at the University of Alberta in 2000 and have been working with Dr. Correia since 2002, over 13 years! This career has given me the opportunity to work with some amazing people and fantastic patients. In my spare time you will find me spending time with friends, cooking, reading and snuggling with my fur baby Lulu. Along with my coworkers I look forward to many more years providing you and your families with quality dental care.
I graduated Dental Hygiene in 2005 from the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene. I was attracted to the dental field for the opportunity to fulfill my passion in helping people and to assist in creating beautiful smiles. I have been a proud member of Beaumaris Dental since January of 2014. It is awesome to be able to educate patients on the importance of why good oral health is so beneficial to their overall health and to show them real results!
When I’m not at Beaumaris Dental, I am busy with my small business “Keen Eye Lashes and Brows.” I am a proud mommy of an energetic toddler, love the arts especially fashion and beauty, and my favorite thing to do in my spare time is listening to live music and spoken word poetry.
I completed my diploma in dental hygiene at the University of Alberta. From there, I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Specialization, learning about expanded roles of a dental hygienist in the community. When I’m not at the office, I’m usually travelling to different parts of the world, learning about other cultures and languages. I love anything and everything related to food and I am always on the lookout for new restaurants to try!
I graduated from NAIT in 2010 with my diploma in Dental Assisting. I’ve worked at various dental offices and I can proudly call Beaumaris Dental my new home. We try to make every dental experience a positive one; you’ll often hear laughter regularly in the office.
When I am not in the office or talking about teeth I am usually found at home with my husband and puppy Stella watching horror movies or binge watching Real Housewives. I got married last year in sunny Cancun and we recently just bought our first home together in St. Albert. In my spare time I’ve started quilting…. I just finished my first quilt and am working on my second one!
I graduated from SAIT in 2017, receiving my diploma as a Dental Assistant. Shortly after this, I moved from my home in Saskatchewan and began working at Beaumaris Dental. The staff are all amazing as well as our patients, making my work a happy place.
When I am not at work I enjoy playing any type of sport. I am part of a volleyball team here in Edmonton and I like to stay busy with that. You can often find me at the dog park with my sister’s dog or looking after other people’s dogs. I enjoy travelling as well as volunteering and I am always looking for my next adventure.
